Therapy Services
The Institute runs an O/P center where Pulsed Magnetic Field (PMF) Treatment is offered for a variety of clinical conditions like pain management for musculo-skeletal disorders, ulcer healing in diabetes, bone healing, sports trauma and in rehabilitation for certain neurological conditions like Parkinson’s disease, Depression, Early Dementia and for post stroke management. Incidentally over the last three decades over 5,000 cases have received PMF therapy for one or more of the mentioned ailments. Compilation on the last decade of therapy results has been published as a retrospective study which asserts to the high success ratio obtained in treating these ailments.
Research collaboration
The Institute has research collaboration with leading medical universities (both private and Govt) for doctoral level studies and post-graduate dissertation programs for assessing the effect of PMF treatment under various conditions of disease. This offers immense potential for exploiting the beneficial aspects of magnetism-life interaction, especially application of magnetic fields as a tool of medical therapy. The research findings are shared through leading peer reviewed journals, medical conferences, workshop/seminars held both in India and abroad. Also through “Research Gate” several leading experts participate on a common information-interchange platform where latest developments are shared in the field of “Electromagnetobiology and Biomagnetism”. More than 50 research papers have already been published by the Institute covering both fundamental and application aspects of PMF technology since 1983. This apart MIM collaborates with through specific research programs supported by Institutions like ICMR (Indian Council for Medical Research), DRDO (Defence Research Development Organization) etc. These activities have bestowed a great deal of attention towards standardization of dosimetry for different types of diseases so that treatment can be offered safely, tested and proven under diverse conditions of disease.
